Reported from the Monday Morning Quarterback, July 6, 2009:
Global is Presented with 'Manufacturer of the Year' 3rd Year in a Row! Thursday July 2, 2009
"For the Third year in a row, GLOBAL was presented with the highest award (non-aligned) by the Office Furniture Dealer Alliance (OFDA) - Gold.
The annual OFDA Dealer's Choice awards are presented to aligned and non-manufacturers for their ongoing commitment to the dealer channel across North America. The 2009 winning manufacturers were determined by the results of the Association's annual OFDA Dealer Manufacturer Satisfaction Index Survey, a detailed dealer poll designed to recognize best of class performance, as well as highlight topics of concern for the contract furniture dealer community.
The survey asked dealers to evaluate up to four of their manufacturer business partners in various key categories including training, product lines, service and support, sales and marketing, management, and technology."
The US House of Representatives voted to fund our country's school districts with more than $6.4 billion to rennovate and incorporate LEED building practices, beginning mid-2010.
If approved by the Senate, this bill will encourage energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources in schools. It will help transition us toward a green economy by making our classrooms more environmentally friendly! Read further:

Great information! Formaldehyde-Free MDF w/an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood veneer can be utilized for commercial furniture products - applying the veneer to the surface. Very cool!
Over time, this company has consciously developed and formed strong relationships with those manufacturers who initiated an effort to implement greener manufacturing processes, as well as to develop products that by their very nature are inherently 'green'. For example, Hamilton Sorter's "modular caseworks" are designed and built to be flexible and reusable. Instead of sending your built-in millwork to the landfill when your needs change, you simply reconfigure the product as growth demands, adding additional pieces or rearranging the configuration to meet the new requirements. How simple can that be!!!
For any commercial designers or architects interested - this is great news if you're using Revit and designing projects using casework products! This information was announced just this week by one of our manufacturers!
"Hamilton Sorter, the leader in Modular Casework products, is pleased to announce the first comprehensive casework catalog available in Revit format. This library was created in conjunction with McGraw Hill and Andekan the worlds leading Revit content creator whose content stands out among other providers for its high level of detail, light file size, and fast performance within Revit."
