I started this website because I learned that my great-uncles' bayou was being drained and shut down. This happened because some rich corporations claimed that the basin* was flooding their land and the water was being kept high for my uncle's tour boat. But, my uncle had no control over water levels. The government has now drained it. I hope that you will sign my petition to get the government to close the floodgate so rain can refill Alligator Bayou. If I get enough persuasion by even kids, I'm sure they will have to do something.
Maybe, just maybe, if we get enough people to sign the petition below, we can save the trees and wildlife (fish, turtles, alligators, nutrias, bobcats, and all different kinds of birds, snakes, and frogs) in this beautiful habitat, located just below Baton Rouge in South Louisiana. Emptying the bayous killed the ecosystem, and now all the animals are gone or dead. The alligators are climbing out of the empty lakes, bayous and swamps into nearby bodies of water, and nuisance hunters are shooting and killing them.
Now I am going to tell you about the other effects of draining the bayous. My uncle's tour business is gone, because he cannot run a boat without water. This means he can't save the swamp and the animals anymore, and he can't teach children about the environment.

Save Alligator Bayou
So, for the sake of my family, the animals, and the Baton Rouge area, please sign the petition or do anything else you can do.
