VALLEY REGIONAL
FIRE RESCUE
Valley Regional Fire Rescue was founded on July 1, 2005. Valley Regional was formed when Butler Twp. Fire Co. and Conyngham Fire Co. merged to form one company to better protect the residents of the two municipalities. We have over 50 active members ranging from junior firefighters, to the most senior members. We have 17 pieces of apparatus housed between 2 stations. The Fire East Station is located in Butler Twp. and the other is located in Conyngham Boro. We have 3 Engines, 1 Tower, 2 Rescues, 1 Tanker, 4 Ambulances (2 are Medic Units), 1 Chase Truck (Medic 26 C), 1 Hummer, 1 Brush Vehicle, 1 Wheelchair Van (Non-Emergent), 1 Mass Cassulity Trailer, 1 Technicial Rescue Trailer, and many atvs for search and rescue. We are the ONLY full service Fire Dept. in Luzerne County. All of our firefighters are trained. Most of our firefighters are certified to the state level, many are trained to the national level. Also a few of our volunteers are Career Firefighters. Our department is trained, equipped and ready for Fire Suppression, Truck work, Vehicle Rescue, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, Rope Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Dive Rescue, and both ALS/BLS emergencies.
In November 2006, we decided to start an ALS Ambulance to serve the residents of Butler Twp. and Conyngham Boro. The medic unit is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with 1 Paramedic/Firefighter and 1 EMT/Firefighter. Medic 26 also is 1st due ALS to Nuremburg (Schyukill County), parts of Sugarloaf Twp. and is 2nd due ALS in many other municipalities.
