VRFR Assists Sugarloaf with a 2nd Alarm House Fire.
At approx 2200hrs. Sugarloaf Fire was dispatched to the area of Hollow Rd and Larock Rd for a reported house fire.  Sugarloaf Chief 4 arrived with a fully Involved House Fire requesting the 2nd alarm.  VRFR was on standby when the 2nd alarm was hit which brought Eng. 2, Rescue 2 and Tanker 1 along with units from the surrounding departments. Sugarloaf E-12 arrived along with VRFR AC-2 (Chupela) and got a game plan together.  Because of downed powerlines, a long icy snow covered driveway, a small bridge, and the fact that house was not able to be saved, it was determined that Sugarloaf wasn't going to need the full 2nd alarm.  So command requested that VRFR Eng. 2 and Tanker 1 proceed into the scene, and had the county dispatch a fleet of Brush Trucks (1 from VRFR) to the scene to access the house.  Brush 1 arrived at the scene along with Nuremburg Fire's Brush and Brush 1 had the 1st water on the fire about 30 mins after the first units arrived.  After the fire was extinguished VRFR was released.  The home was occupied at the time with the homeowners out for night only to arrive while the fire was being extinguished.  Only the foundation was able to be saved.  Rescue 2 and Freeland Fire were on standby at Sugarloaf Station for anyother calls in their town.
