SAN MARCELINO:  After introducing myself to the new Police Chief in our town, he agreed to resume my lectures with his troops. Several officers came up to me and welcomed me back and I also noticed several new ones.  CASTILLEJOS: These troops seem more interested and I'm seeing more progress. Just keep praying. There is a certain "macho" barrier that hinders them from seeing their need for Christ.

DECEMBER..The State Department warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to the southern Philippine islands of Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago and urges extreme caution if traveling there. This Travel Alert reflects the recent acts of violence in the Mindanao province of Maguindanao and is supplemental to our September 17, 2009 Travel Warning to the Philippines. This Travel Alert expires on January 6, 2010.

Travelers should exercise extreme caution if traveling in the central and western portions of the island of Mindanao, as well as in the islands of the Sulu Archipelago. Recent violence in Maguindanao resulted in the Government of the Philippines declaring a state of emergency in the provinces of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat and the city of Cotabato. The state of emergency includes road checkpoints conducted by the Philippine military and law enforcement. If U.S. citizens travel to Maguindanao despite this Travel Alert, they should understand there are heightened tensions and there will be a significant military presence. They should carefully research restrictions imposed upon travel and follow the instructions of officials with regards to limitations on movement.

Travelers to this area should remain vigilant and avoid congregating in public areas. Some foreigners who reside in or visit Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago hire their own security.

The Department of State remains concerned about the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against U.S. citizens and interests throughout the world. The Worldwide Caution reminds U.S. citizens that terrorism can occur anywhere.

New Outreaches producing Fruit
We now have three outreaches resulting in both adult and children conversions and visitors.  Pictured are the children from our closest outreach in the Barangay of Burgus, San Marcelino.
National Safety Concerns . . .
Our Iba Bible Baptist Mission, headed by Pastor Jun, reports of 28 in attendance with a few baptisms scheduled!  Please pray that he can consistently reach his goal of thirty..  Also pray for his attitude.  I think he's been under stress or is being wrongly influenced by some unethical pastors.

Sadly we lost two, third-year students to sexual immorality. The good news is we gained five more who are wanting to be trained as Christian Teachers.

New Link Address . . .   After my Webstarts editor was slowing down, I noticed a slight change in my address.  On October 27th, they replaced the "s1" on my address with "s2" - probably to rectify their ever growing number of free clients like me.  This means you should re-save this page as a favorites or bookmark it again to update your link.   This may also be true for other Webstart pages (change s1 to s2).  Otherwise, you'll keep getting my October 26th Editions of what you were looking for.

New Website Additions . . .
I just posted a new photo album at Flickr and already had 80 visits. I think it's pretty good and informative. CLICK HERE to check it out.  Also, to help construct my furlough itinerary, you can CLICK HERE to view how it's falling into place, to e-mail me for scheduling, and to read some of the testimonies from churches I have been in.  And then, there is my SUPPORTERS HALL OF FAME page, which honors all our supporters for this last quarter!  And lastly, just recently, I started a new BLOGS SITE which unlike before, was actually designed for it. And lastly, if you'll scroll down, you'll see a slide show of some past highlights.  I think you'll enjoy it.

New Ministries . . .  We now have three new Bible studies that are producing fruit, and I'm increasing my outreaches to an area High School.

Three days without electric, running water, refrigerator, PC, and more!
Current Status . .

We've practically recovered from our past series of trials and things are falling into place for our furlough which still looks like May of this year.  A visitor from the Netherlands came to visit his girlfriend who recently joined our church.  We gave him the gospel, he got saved, became baptized and now is happily married.  For Photos CLICK HERE.

I also enjoyed what looks like to be about fifteen genuine conversions from my High School outreaches.  After teaching a series on the gospel and inviting them to pray, I gave a written exam and fifteen gave convincing answers.  Pray as I disciple them.  I want them to be involved in our youth group.

We gained a new family who transferred from another Independent Baptist church, but it appears their former church is being picky about us and we may lose them.  Within the Independent Baptists here are International, Lighthouse, Park, Landmark, Bible, Missionary and so on, and some sadly, are exclusive.

As I have time I'll be updating this page, so please come back.
Honestly!

Values Education results in Conversions!
Gideons distributed over 1,200 NT's at the HS where I teach, and is permitting me to do the followups!  Also, the Principle assigned me three more sections to teach which will enable me to introduce more students to our church Youth Group's activities!  So far around fifteen have recently received Christ and have passed my written exam to confirm it. Pray as I start disciplining them into our church youth group.
On December 21st, some of our members went out caroling, distributing food gifts to the elderly and needy!
Spreading some Christmas Cheer!
Chocolate gifts!
Four of our men preached!  We also had a drama, baby dedication, anniversary, special music, choir, games, awardings and fellowship which lasted TEN HOURS!  Pictured left are the gifts we had received this Christmas.

Your Church Plant Brings Home The Gold!
For three days from December 28 through the 30th, our church competed with six other churches in a regional Sports Fest conducted by our neighbor, the Grace of God Baptist Church.  And while some churches were much larger than ours and we lost many events, we rejoice that we received 17 medals and the highly esteemed "BEST CHURCH" trophy (again)!  As a trophy based on Christian Character, we value this one most of all!
